Today’s catch comes from the one and only Flume. The Australian electronic musician will be releasing a brand new album, Palaces, out on 5/20. Today’s catch is the 2nd single from the forthcoming LP called “Sirens” featuring Caroline Polachek (formerly of the band Chairlift). The song is incredibly chill and her vocals match perfectly to the ethereal electronic sound. Flume’s new album will also feature collaborations with MAY-A, Damon Albarn, Vergen Maria, Oklou and Kučka. According to Flume, this is how today’s catch originated…
“Caroline and I had known each other for years, but she’d just moved to L.A. and we bumped into each other living down the street. We started playing weekly games of Magic The Gathering with A.G. Cook and a few friends. We started doing a session, and Danny L Harle showed me a voice note from Caroline with some very early stages of vocals. I loved it and went back in on it during the pandemic.”
