Friday, March 3rd

The Surreal Garden Pop-Up | 7 p.m. | Austin Beer Works 

Kick off your weekend with an Alice in Wonderland-esque, color-filled pop-up from The Surreal Garden. The Surreal Garden is a neon, rainbow art exhibit located in the Zilker Botanical Gardens. The Zilker Gardens art exhibit is produced by Ion Art Inc., an Austin art scene landmark. The pop-up will include merch, photo-ops, goodies, FAQ answers and a sneak peek at a new interactive sculpture for this year’s exhibition. This Wonderland wouldn’t be complete without a magic “drink me” potion so grab some local beers from Austin Beer Works! No tickets or RSVPs are required.

BBQ Austin | 12 p.m. | Rodeo Austin

BBQ Austin describes itself as “the best BBQ cook-off in Texas”. Come see what all the hype is about this Friday at Rodeo Austin. Fill your belly with some of the best BBQ in Texas. Tickets to the event will also give you access to pony rides, and the Austin Rodeo petting zoo. Join BBQ Austin for a terrific Texan time for the whole family. Austin FC Vs. CF Montreal | 7:30 p.m. | Q2 Stadium

If you’re anything like me, and have no idea how soccer works, but are intrigued by the sport, now’s your chance to learn. Austin FC is Austin’s first major professional sports team since the Austin Aztex FC. See “The Verde and Black” (that’s a nickname for Austin FC, all the cool fans are saying it) face off against CF Montreal, this Saturday. Support this Austin gem, and grab tickets, here.

ATX Crawfish Kickoff Festival | 3 p.m. | Republic Square

REJOICE! It’s officially crawfish season, baby. Get your bibs and your hand wipes stocked up and ready. The ATX Crawfish Kickoff Festival provides an ALL YOU CAN EAT selection of crawfish as well as several other food vendors. Enjoy live music while you eat from various bands and DJs. Located in Republic Square, you’ll be eating crawfish and listening to live music in a gorgeous outside location. Seating is available, but feel free to bring your own fold-up chairs. Bring the whole fam! Kids under eight eat FREE. Grab your tickets, here.

Sunday, March 5th

Yoga in The Park | 10 a.m. | Meanwhile Brewing Co.

After. jam-packed weekend, full of events you found through the 101X weekend guide, wind down, and find your zen with Yoga in The Park. Meet with your instructor and the rest of the class at Meanwhile Brewing Co. Then head to the park for some yoga with a dose of vitamin D. After your session, head back to Meanwhile Brewing for a much-deserved coffee, beer, or breakfast meal. Be sure to bring your own yoga mat! The event is free, but be sure to reserve a spot, here.

Babes Market | 12 p.m. | Batch Craft Beer & Kolaches

If you didn’t know, March is Women’s History Month. Celebrate the lovely ladies in your life, and join Art in ATX at Batch Craft Beer & Kolaches for Babes Market. The event will feature over 20 different women and non-binary-owned vendors, showcasing their artwork, and products. Find unique items, and listen to live music from female performers while you shop.
