GGG Fest | 4 p.m. | Hole in the Wall
Kickstart your South by shenanigans with GGG Fest. Happens Twice and Joey Tea are showcasing seven local bands at Hole in the Wall, this Friday. Got a hole in your wallet at Hole in the Wall? Start-up Crawl | 6 p.m. | Capital Factory
It wouldn’t be SXSW without kitschy, start-up networking events. Join Capital Factory for their Start-up Crawl, this Friday. Take a tour of 100+ of Austin’s up-and-coming start-ups. Along with networking, they’ll be FREE drinks, FREE snacks, a photo booth, a DJ set and more. This event is FREE to attend, but you’ll have to pre-register. You can find the registration link, here.
Saturday, March 11th
MLS Season Pass Experience | 6 p.m. | ACL Live at The Moody Theatre
Major League Soccer and Apple TV are giving soccer fans the SXSW FREE event of the year with the MLS Season Pass Experience. Head to ACL Live for a special SXSW edition viewing party of the Austin FC vs. Real Salt Lake game. Pregame the game at 6 p.m. with food, drinks, DJs, MLS Season Pass giveaways and a photo booth. After you’re finished watching the game, stick around for a postgame performance from rapper, Bas. The event is free to attend, no badge required, but you will need a ticket. SXSOCO | 7 p.m. | Freddo ATX
South Congress is so much more than its iconic Austin landmark photo-ops. If you find yourself on SOCO this South by, stop by Freddo ATX for a free, unofficial local artist showcase. The showcase is presented by Austin Music Love, a local organization dedicated to highlighting underground music events in Austin. The line-up for the event includes artists, Lucy Eaton, Marcus Lee, Jus Rus and The Magnolia Kids. Attendees can shop at vendors at the event while you enjoy the live music. 101X Homegrown Live: Side One Track One VS. Austin Town Hall | 3 p.m. | Hotel Vegas/Volstead
Close your SXSW weekend one off right Side One Track One, Austin Town Hall and 101X, this Sunday. Head to Hotel Vegas and Volstead for 101X’s Homegrown artist showcase, featuring a whopping 27 different bands. The event is FREE to attend but you must be 21+, sorry kiddos. 4K Director’s Cut Screening of Dazed and Confused | 7 p.m. | French Legation
Hyperreal, Letterboxd and Topo Chico present a SXSW unofficial movie night for the screening of the 4K director’s cut of Dazed and Confused. If you didn’t know about this cult classic, first of all, where have you been?? Second of all, the movie was filmed in our very own Austin, Texas, and stars Austin Sweetheart, Matthew McConaughey. The event will provide FREE DRINKS from vendors like Topo Chico, Titos Vodka, Clean Yerba Mate, Tequila 512, O’dell Brewing and more. The showing is located outside on the lawn of the French Legation so be sure to bring a picnic blanket. The event is first come first serve, be sure to RSVP, here.
