How dare they go after one of my favorite college places!
After a costumer left a scathing review of Herbert’s in New Braunfels the restaurant clapped back – and they’ve got the receipts. “Sue” went on a local Facebook group and trashed the place after her bad experience at lunch. Unfortunately for her, Herbert’s has a manager that stands up for their employees and surveillance to back them up.

“Yesterday it was brought to our attention that a customer (Susan) went on a public forum (Everything New Braunfels) to spread misinformation. This post lead to other community members assuming her words were the truth. The post had around 300 comments. Once we responded to the post, the post was removed. Spreading misinformation can easily influence current and future potential customers so below is the truth along with supporting evidence.

10:50 (NOT 10:56 as claimed by Susan) – Susan and hubby arrive. Look how cute we got it decorated for yall!
10:51 – Paola our incredible Manager seats Susan and hubby on table 26. Those booths were hand carved and have amazing detail. It took us like 6 months to get that furniture made and delivered.
10:52 – My gorgeous nephew Derek delights them with his infectious smile and complimentary warm chips and freshly made salsa made by my auntie Rosie! Susan claims that waiting 1 minute to be acknowledged is “a while”. Yikes! Soooo much I can say about this. Anyway, Derek takes their drink order but because Susan was starving she called him back. Susan was ready to place her food order and hey we were ready to take it! Bring it Susan! She did not want to wait until 11 when that lunch special kicks in as it has for over 40+ years. Could you believe that?!?
10:54 – Derek delivers Susan and hubby their Texas teas.
10:54 (NOT 10:58 as claimed by Susan) – A few seconds later Derek places the order and while he realizes it’s 6 minutes prior to the lunch special kicking in he does NOT charge for the drinks – a savings of $4+ dollars. I tell you that kid is too sweet! Unfortunately for Susan the system is set to 11 and therefore charges the regular price as it has been programmed to do so for many, many years. While technology has made huge advancements we are still not there to where it would know Susan wouldn’t be having it that day.
10:58 – Derek delivers two enchilada dinners to Susan and hubby of which our line cooks Chayo and Lisseth pumped out in an impressive 4 minutes! 4 MINUTES! I mean, yeah. Hubby asks for extra napkins and extra napkins he gets.
11:22 Derek brings FREE to-go drink and gives Susan and hubby…………wait for it, wait for it……tan, tan, tan, an itemized receipt! {and the crowd goes wild}.
11:23 Derek applies payment and returns card, with itemized receipt, merchant copy and customer copy to Susan and hubby and wishes them a blessed day!
11:29 Because Susan wasn’t pleased receiving only free drinks she goes up to the register and complains to Paola. Paola notices that Susan is distressed and remedies that by honoring her the lunch special price. The cashier didn’t “just stare” at Susan as Susan claims. Paola took action, when in reality she shouldn’t have but because Paola, like Derek, is super sweet she wanted to make Susan happy. Susan was never going to be happy that day.
Honestly all this to say, if you can be anything today, please choose not to be a Susan today. I mean this with all my heart. Children in other countries are eating leaves. Choose to be better, Susan. Shame on you for purposely choosing deceit and hate on this day.”
