A couple of weeks back, in the wake of that one survey about which American accent is the sexiest (ICYMI: Texan edged Bostonian), my girlfriend asked me, “If you could have any accent, what would it be?” I answered, I think I’d want to be a Scotsman.
About 15 hours later, while listening to some random Spotify list, I was turned on to this:
Yup. 3.5 gloriously silly minutes dedicated to perhaps the most famous Scot this side of William Walker. Further investigation has revealed that the artist behind it, Allez Allez, are a Belgian funk collective that had some success in the 80’s, but were long-ago split even by the end of that decade–until several of them put the whole thing together again to play some shows two years ago. “Sean Connery” is among a handful of recent releases marking their return to recorded music. WTF?
