Downtown Georgetown

This small town festival is not so small anymore. Head to Georgetown this weekend to check out the 20th annual Red Poppy Festival. You are sure to find something for everyone, from the car show to the cooking competition, all while enjoying live music all weekend long. That’s not all, to make it even better Pat Green will be headlining Saturday night’s concert!  

Other activities throughout the festival include a kids zone complete with a bounce house, obstacle course, basketball game, and even a playground for the toddler-age kiddos. The force is strong with this one! This Friday, cheer on The Round Rock Express as they take on The New Orleans Baby Cakes, during a special Star Wars Night! MARK YOUR CALENDARS! 101X Homegrown Live is back and this time we’re joining our friends over at Buffalo Billiards to help celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a FREE show featuring Jackie Venson, Otis The Destroyer, and XETAS! 21+ can enjoy specials on Austin Eastciders while there. Music starts at 7:30 PM, but we’re predicting a full house so get there early to get a good spot!

Eeyore’s Birthday Party is a free outdoor party and a fundraiser that benefits non-profits in the Austin area. It is also a place where free-spirited Austinites go to act as weird as possible in a judgment-free zone. Activities include a costume contest, face painting, henna, and the opportunity to meet Eeyore himself. Bring your favorite (non-amplified) instruments if you want to be a part of the many drum circles that are bound to take place at the park. This event is all-ages and a great way for the community to come together and have some fun!

Band Aid School of Music

Come out to Guitarnival this Sunday, benefiting A Chance to Rock (Music Scholarships for Families in need). There will be lots of activities to partake in such as FREE guitar lessons, guitar spelling bee, air guitar contest, ice cream eatin’, and beer drinkin’ for 21+. Performers include Tomar and FCs, Professor Rafe and the Fables, Tony Kamel of Wood & Wire. Gates open at 12:30 PM & music starts at 1 PM, so come out and show your support for Austin music.
