The final days leading up to an album release are always exciting, especially when the band hasn’t released music in three years, and even more when their most recent record nearly took home a Grammy for “Best Rock Album.” That’s why we’re beyond ready for Death Cab for Cutie’s new album, “Thank You For Today,” to hit shelves on Aug. 17. The charismatic track off the new album “Gold Rush,” released in June, felt like a sure sign of another incredible project from the Washington natives, and the group has kept that momentum going with the second single, “I Dreamt We Spoke Again,” released last week. “I Dreamt We Spoke Again” is relaxed, meditative, and rolls along smoothly until a solo guitar melody chimes in to keep things interesting. The lyric video, also released last week, visually nails how the song sounds – like an easy flight through the clouds during a sunset.
