The Killers – “Caution”
The Killers unearthed their latest single, “Caution,” featuring guitarist Lindsey Buckingham formerly from Fleetwood Mac. The Killers also announced a North American tour which includes a stop in Austin on September 12th. “Caution” was inspired by singer Brandon Flowers’ move to Utah from his hometown of Las Vegas and the emotions associated with his decision to leave. “I was having this sort of hunch or impression that that was something that I was supposed to do for my family,” he said in a recent interview. “And it was hard for me because I’m an ambassador for [Vegas] — and so it was tough for me to leave, and I thought I was able to harness that energy and there was a sort of a relief when it happened, and you kind of feel that the spirit in ‘Caution.’” The new single is also the first release off of the band’s sixth studio album Imploding the Mirage, which is due out May 29th.
Tones and I – “Bad Child” and “Can’t Be Happy”
Overnight sensation, Tones and I, released two new singles “Bad Child” and “Can’t Be Happy All The Time” six months following debut EP, The Kids Are Coming, was unveiled. After the breakout artist broke numerous records and received plenty acclaims for “Dance Monkey” in summer 2019, Tones and I said she was overwhelmed by the drastic change in her life. Feeling the pressure of millions of eyes watching her progression and success as an artist, she wanted to continue to write songs that were true to her character. “As a busker, and as someone who lived in Byron Bay and played music on the street, while I lived in my van… Having that song go so big, there’s good and bad in that,” Tones and I said. “Bad Child” is similar to “Johnny Run Away,” both based on a “heartbreaking” story of a friend. She said she decided to write those songs for herself and her happiness, without trying to fold under pressure. Right now, Tones and I is scheduled to go on tour, however no dates in Texas have been announced.
KALEO – “Alter Ego”
Icelandic rock band, KALEO, released a third single “Alter Ego” from their upcoming album SURFACE SOUNDS. 2020 has been their first time releasing music since the four years following their debut album and global success A/B. After spending nearly three years touring, the band spent time to create new music inspired by their worldwide experiences. Learning new languages and incorporating sounds from various locations, J.J. Julius Son said, “what was most remarkable was seeing first-hand how we are more alike than we are different. This idea to stay, stand our ground and fight for what we believe in keeps resurfacing.” Fight or Flight is the title of their tour set to begin this summer. Tickets to their show in Austin on Oct. 6 can be purchased here.
