Central Texas Coronavirus Update for June 3, 2020

BASTROP COUNTY:

89 coronavirus patients in Bastrop County have recovered from the virus. Since March, when the first cases of COVID-19 began to crop up across Central Texas, 219 cases have been confirmed and three have died. 46 of those cases have been found within the 30-39-year-old age group, which accounts for the largest number of confirmed cases in Bastrop County.


COMAL COUNTY:

Comal County health officials have reported eight new cases of coronavirus. The total for Comal as of Wednesday stands at 108, with 79 recoveries and seven deaths. There are 50 COVID-19 tests still pending. The county says 3114 tests have been conducted, 2956 of which have come back negative.


HAYS COUNTY:

Hays County’s hospitalization count climbs by two from Tuesday. As of Wednesday morning, eight people are in the hospital for COVID-19-related issues. 205 out of the county’s 371 cases have recovered and five have died. County health officials say almost 4400 tests have been conducted.


TRAVIS COUNTY:

The number of hospitalizations has remained at 97 for more than a day now in Travis County. Austin Public Health has reported an overall total of 3433 cases, 93 of which have resulted in death. But the recovery numbers are continuing to climb, now up to 1296 this morning, which is 79 more than just 24 hours ago.


WILLIAMSON COUNTY:

Williamson County has crossed another threshold for its coronavirus recoveries. The number of patients who have battled back from their illness is now at 412, and the number of active cases is now at 199, dropping below the 200 mark for the first time in weeks. Ten people are in the hospital and 53-percent of beds are still available.
