A while back Jason came up with a fun new segment called Am I Trash. Basically, you describe a particular situation or encounter, and everyone else determines whether it makes you a trash person or not. It’s usually very simple, except for when Deb says she has a good one. It seems her barometer is a bit off on what makes someone a trash person. This last weekend for instance, Deb went downtown to True Food Kitchen for a social-distance lunch with a friend, and so her foster dog Henry could get some practice being around other people. At one point, she decided she wanted one of her favorite drinks from back when she would have Sunday brunch at Wu Chow, a Hibiscus ice tea mimosa with a shot of Deep Eddy Grapefruit. Unfortunately, they didn’t have that at True Foods, but the server suggested perhaps they could recreate it a la carte. So Deb ordered a Prosecco with a side of Dulce Vida tequila and some grapefruit puree. It turned out pretty close to what Deb wanted which was good, but unfortunately we determined anything involving the words Hibiscus and puree automatically disqualifies you from being trash. Maybe next time Deb.
I Love You Call
We were discussing a 7-11 in Dallas that you can rent out on AirBnB that includes all you can eat with the candy and snacks inside the store. This led Jason to go down a wormhole of what was the optimal strategy for how to get the most bang for your buck in a Super Market Sweeps situation. In the end we decided to call his favorite 7-11 in Hawaii to get to the bottom of things.
