A press release from Mohawk says they will reopen at limited capacity beginning in May. There will be “select shows, private events, and rentals…and will begin hosting daytime events and reduced capacity outdoor shows in June.”

As for safety precautions, the Austin venue plans to reopen in a secure and effective manner by remaining consistent with the CDC and following the Safe in Sound guidelines.
Mohawk owner James Moody emphasized the importance of keeping the venue safe during a pandemic.
“I am going to open after I see other people do it safely,” said Moody in an interview with the American-Stateman in March. The owner revealed that they “are not going to be doing big shows. We’re going to be doing a more spotty calendar, and lower capacity, and a lot of, like, private events and day rentals and that kind of stuff.”
Mohawk is also hiring. If you’re interested, check out the details below.
