It’s official. Billie Eilish is a true stan of The Strokes.
Like many of us, we all fell in love with The Strokes’ new album The New Abnormal, which received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album. The 18-year-old musician highlighted the New York band during a Triple J interview, where she shared her favorite songs of 2020.
Only allowed to pick one song, she expressed that if doable, the entire album would be her ultimate 2020 favorite. “It’s been my favorite album in many years,” said the artist about The New Abnormal. “There is something about The Strokes, I don’t know what it is, man. I love “At The Door,” I love the melodies, I love the lyrics, I love everything about it. The Strokes hit a nerve.”
Aside from The Strokes, James Blake’s “Are You Even Real,” Phoebe Bridgers’ “Savior Complex” and Dominic Fike’s “Chicken Tenders,” made the list. Her other shout outs included Drake, Cyn and Tekno.
Eilish’s love for The Strokes was also revealed during her recent Vanity Fair “Time Capsule” interview. “I fucking love The Strokes album,” she responded when asked about her favorite artists at the moment. Check out the full interview below.
