Foals have launched a new YouTube series titled FBC Transmissions, that reflects on the unforgettable creation and album cycle for their double record, Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost. The twelve-part short film series will provide a weekly look into Foals’ creative process, touring experiences, and individual personalities within the band through new and never before seen footage. FBC Transmissions was curated by Toby L, who directed the band’s documentary Rip Up The Road in 2019, and Kit Monteith, who is also a regular collaborator of the band. According to NME, Toby and Kit commented:
“The cameras have been rolling more or less non-stop for the past 18 months, from the creation of the band’s recent albums, all the way through to the ‘ENSWBL’ world tour. We wanted to re-inhabit those moments in a time where it feels that introspection is more important than ever, offering new glimpses into what has been such a crucial era for the band and society at large. Every week’s missive will provide a concise, intimate insight into the band’s world, alternating week on week. We hope each one has the potential to, in some small way, brighten your day.”
On Friday, May 1, Fouls launched the first Transmission episode where the band is seen putting the finishing touches to the single “Exits” alongside co-producer Vincent Taurelle. In the future episodes, the fans will gain an exclusive insight into the collection of unique and sensational music that, fouls member, Jimmy Smith introduced, which shaped the final outcome of album. We will also see footage from their homecoming headline set at the Truck Festival in 2019 and the band will even answer questions submitted by fans.
Foals should have been gearing up for their UK headlining arena tour this Spring in support of their albums Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost parts one and two, but the dates had to be postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Last week, the band announced the rescheduled dates for the tour, which are now rearranged in Spring 2021. Head below to watch the first ‘transmission’ episode.
