The 17-year-old singer-songwriter has just shared a new song inspired by Alfonso Cuarón’s film Roma—which snagged two Golden Globes over the weekend.
Although the song is not part of the movie’s soundtrack, it will be featured on the album Music Inspired By Roma which will be released via Sony Music Masterworks. The album will comprise of various artists taking inspiration from specific scenes and sounds of the film; all of whom were selected by Cuarón himself.
“When I Was Older” was most likely inspired by the scene in which Pepe (played by Marco Graf) recalls his past life and exclaims “when I was older I used to be a sailor, but I drowned in a storm.”
