“Rescued” Lyric Video From YouTube
Well, surprise, surprise! Recent social media teases from the Foo Fighters accounts have suggested new music was in the works, but I don’t think we expected anything quite so soon! Check out brand new tune “Rescued” below–the first new Foos release since the tragic passing of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins last year.
“Rescued” is the first shared track from the Foo Fighters’ 11th studio album, But Here We Are. Produced by the band and pal Greg Kurstin, the press release from management says the new 10-song set will “run the gamut from rage and sorrow to serenity and acceptance, and myriad points in between.” It’s set for release on June 2.
The release of the new single with accompanying album details follows a rash of Foo Fighters show announcements. The band is set to kick off a North American jaunt in DC May 30th to mark the opening of the new Atlantis club–a reportedly exact replica of one of teenaged Dave Grohl’s old haunts, the legendary punk and new wave venue The 9:30 Club, which stood next door.
A sold-out El Paso stop on October 5th is fueling speculation that the Foo Fighters might make a weekend of their Texas visit, as it falls on Austin City Limits Festival’s Weekend One opening day. We should see confirmation–or otherwise–early next month.
