New Music Friday Ft. Cold War Kids, Bishop Briggs, and Tame Impala

COLD WAR KIDS

Cold War Kids have returned with a brand new album titled New Age Norms 1. The 8-track album is part of an upcoming trilogy the indie-rock band plans on releasing over the span of a year. The idea of a trilogy was inspired by Kanye West’s continuous stream of albums that were released last summer. “I think I really deliberately wanted to do this three-volume New Age Norms idea because I felt like we still had a lot to explore creatively, musically, and just how we operate,” lead singer Nathan Willett said in a recent interview. “We’ve been playing some of these songs for 15 years. We needed to have that moment where we wiped the slate clean, and it just feels like this is that time for doing a three-volume thing.” Cold War Kids will kick off the 2020 101X Concert Series with a show at Stubb’s Austin on February 15th. Tickets are on sale now.
