Hayley Williams –  Over Yet

Just two weeks after Hayley William released “Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris,” she dropped yet another new hot song, “Over Yet.” Both singles will be included in William’s second EP of her Petals for Armor album, out May 8th. Williams decided to release Petals for Armor in two EPs: Petals for Armor I and Petals for Armor II. She already shared the first part of the album back in February, containing tracks “Simmer,” “Leave It Alone,” “Cinnamon,” “Sudden Desire” and “Creepin.‘” This is her first solo album since Paramore’s After Laughter album back in 2017.  The 1975 – Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America

The 1975 just shared another new song “Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America,” a duet between Phoebe Bridgers and Matty Healy. Hear it below. This is the sixth released single from their upcoming album Notes on a Conditional Form following the previous singles “The 1975,” “People,” “Frail State of Mind,” “Me & You Together Song,” and “The Birthday Party.” Due to the circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic, The 1975 delayed the release of the album until May 22nd and, like many other bands and artists, postponed their tour. They have yet to announce new dates.

Purity Ring – Womb 

After 5 years away, the Canadian duo, Purity Ring, made their official return with their third studio album WOMB. This follows their previous albums Another Eternity, released in 2015, and Shrine in 2012. The 10-track record features lead track, “stardew,” along with “pink lightning” and “peacefall ”entirely written, produced, and performed by singer Megan James and multi-instrumentalist Corin Roddick. The band was scheduled to begin their tour de womb come May, but it has since been postponed until fall 2020.

Green Day – Otis Big Guitar 

Last night, Green Day released a surprise new three-track EP titled Otis Big Guitar Mix. This comes nearly two months after the release of their 13th studio album Father of All Motherfuckers. The EP consists of guitar heavy remixes of  “Lazy Bones,” “Wild One” and “Oh Love” from the band’s 2012 albums ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré!. 

Earlier this week, lead vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong unveiled  “No Fun Mondays,” where he’ll release a new cover every Monday until the discontinuance of the stay-at-home order during the Coronavirus pandemic.  This past Monday, Armstrong released his version of Johnny Thunders’ “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory”and last week performed a cover of  “I Think We’re Alone Now” by Tommy James & The Shondells

Thundercat – It Is What It Is 

Thundercat released his fourth full-length studio album It Is What It Is featuring previously released singles “Fair Chance,” “Dragonball Durag,” “Black Qualls,” and “Interstellar Love.” This is his first record in three years following Drunk in 2017. The 15 track LP features several special guests including Childish Gambino, Ty Dolla $ign, Louis Cole, Steve Lacy, Kamasi Washington, Steve Arrington,  Zack Fox, Ellison, and more. He even pays tribute to close friend Mac Miller on “Fair Chance.”  Thundercat had begun touring earlier this year, but was recently postponed until further notice along with the rest of the industry.
