Sleater-Kinney
Sleater-Kinney have returned with a new album titled The Center Won’t Hold. Produced by Annie Clark (better known as St. Vincent), the 11-track LP is the first new release from the trio since their 2015 reunion LP, No Cities to Love. The new album will also be the last to include drummer Janet Weiss, as she announced her decision to leave the band back in July. Despite the announcement, original founders Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker will embark on a fall tour in support of the new release. Stream The Center Won’t Hold below.
Liam Gallagher
Former Beady Eye and Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has unveiled a new single titled “One Of Us” in anticipation of the forthcoming album Why Me? Why Not, due out September 20th via Warner Records. The new song is an emotionally-driven track that was co-written with Andrew Wyatt and features Gallagher’s youngest son Gene on the bongos and Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on guitar. In a recent statement, Gallagher explained that “‘One Of Us’ is about family, friendship and a sense of belonging. I love the groove and the gospel outro. It reminds me of The Sweet Inspirations.” Listen to the new track below.
Illenium
Illenium has released his highly anticipated studio album, Ascend. The 17-track album features collaborations with various artists including X Ambassadors, Bahari, Echos, The Chainsmokers, and more. The new album along with previously released albums Ashes and Awake follow the path of reincarnation of a Phoenix—which has become symbolic of Illenium. Pretty deep, eh?
