New Music Friday: The Killers, Spoon, Foster the People (8/16)

Brandon Flowers of The Killers performs live on the Pyramid stage during day four of Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm, Pilton on June 29, 2019 in Glastonbury, England. The festival, founded by farmer Michael Eavis in 1970, is the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world. Tickets for the festival sold out in just 36 minutes as it returns following a fallow year

A look at some new albums, singles, videos and more from 101X’s New Music Friday blog:

The Killers – Bright Lights

Looks like we missed a release from last week! New music video from The Killers titled ‘Bright Lights,’ an ode to their hometown of Las Vegas. After their greatest hits album last year we’re getting some all new songs from the band – out now on YouTube.

Foster the People –  Paradise State of Mind

It’s their fourth album, and first in seven years; with the single release of “Lost in Space” two months ago, you can now listen and purchase the full album!

Check out “Paradise State of Mind,” The title track of the new release.

Urban Heat – The Tower

It’s great to see local talent getting some world-wide love today as ATX’s Urban Heat releases The Tower! Grab your copy from Bandcamp and check out the song “You’ve Got That Edge,” on YouTube. Find the band at Waterloo Records for an in-store performance and record signing next week, on August 22nd!

Spoon – “Inside Out (Reduction Mix)”

Check out the Reduction Mix from Spoon’s ‘Inside Out’ and stay tuned for more info on “They Want My Soul: Deluxe More Soul Edition.” Preorder the double LP or double CD before it’s released on November 8th.

Our very own CJ Morgan interviewed Britt Daniel of Spoon for 10 years of ‘They Want My Soul’ – catch up on the blog.
