Tame Impala shot a quarantine performance for NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert. Usually filmed in front of an audience in the NPR office, the series shifted to at-home performances this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Alongside frontman Kevin Parker were Jay Watson and Dom Simper. The home performance featured songs from Tame Impala’s latest album The Slow Rush and the 2019 single “Patience.”
“We’re Tame Impala. Doing Tiny Desk. Obviously, we’re doing it a little bit different today. This is Tame Impala sound system,” said Kevin Parker in between songs. Parker spoke with NPR’s Bobby Carter on the group’s setup. “We’ll do this kind of electronic jam with heaps of equipment around us and we’ll recreate the songs with samplers and sequencers. I’ve wanted to do something like this for a while and thought Tiny Desk would be the opportunity to do it.”

Back in July, Tame Impala released a remix of 070 Shake’s track “Guilty Conscience.” The original song is featured in 070 Shake’s debut album Modus Vivendi. Tame Impala’s remix combines psychedelic, melodic and trippy all in one.
