What makes an artist eligible to nominated?

An individual artist or band must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to being nominated.

How are inductees chosen?

Inductees are determined by a voting group of previous winners, historians, and members of the music industry. In 2012, the Hall started including a fan vote as well which allowed the public to vote via the Hall’s website.

What are some determining factors?

Determining factors include an artist’s musical influence on other artists, the length and profoundness of their career and body of work, and an artist’s or band’s innovation of style.

The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place on March, 29th 2019 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
