Slothrust is the alt-rock trio consisting of Leah Wellbaum on lead vocals and guitar, Kyle Bann on bass, and Will Gorin on the drums. Though originally from Boston, the trio formed while they were college students at Sarah Lawrence College. Their debut album titled Feels Your Pain was released back in 2012.
Since then, they have released three more albums: Of Course You Do, Everyone Else, and The Pact. The Pact was released in September of last year; since then, the track “Double Down” (featured on the album) has garnered over 2 million plays—watch the music video below. For this album, the band teamed up with producer Billy Bush, who’s best known for his work with the band Garbage; a very appropriate collaboration, in our opinion!
The band has previously been compared to the likes of other acts such as The Pixies and Dinosaur Jr. Their sound is reminiscent of the ‘90s grunge movement but has its own modern touch, which creates music that is both familiar yet unique in today’s music industry.
