Today’s catch comes from long time Chillville favs and one of the original chillwave pioneers…Toro y Moi. Chaz Bear (aka Chaz Bundick) will be releasing a new album on 4/29 called Mahal, and today’s catch “Postman” is the first single off the upcoming LP. I’m talking about the finest in funk & groove. Lord have mercy…one of the funkiest songs from Toro y Moi that I’m aware of. So good!!!

“Toro y Moi, a.k.a Chaz Bear, announces his new album MAHAL due April 29th via Dead Oceans. The 13-track project marks the seventh studio album from Bear under the Toro y Moi moniker. To celebrate the announcement, Toro y Moi shares two singles from the forthcoming record “Postman” b/w “Magazine.” Each of the new singles arrives with accompanying visuals. “Postman,” directed by Kid. Studio, sees Toro and friends riding around the colorful San Francisco landscape in his Filipino jeepney, seen on the cover of MAHAL. “Magazine,” directed by Arlington Lowell, sees Toro and Salami Rose Joe Louis, who supplies vocals on the track, dressed vibrantly in a photo studio spliced with various colorful graphics and playful edits.”
