Today’s catch comes from the lovely Ms. Lana Del Rey. She has just released a brand new album called Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd, and today’s catch “Paris, Texas” happens to be an incredible standout track and my favorite on the album. The title actually does come from the Wim Wenders’ film “Paris,TX.” The subject matter she is talking about is how she traveled to these lesser known Americana towns to get away from her difficult family life. It’s about her being able to escape and be somewhere else without that weight of a difficult family. Although other people in her life might not understand her leaving, she knows deep down in her heart that it’s what’s best for HER. Only she knows what is right for herself. Although she can escape….Venice and her family in California will always have a place in her heart. I would describe the sound as incredibly dream like and reminds me of the film “Coraline”.
