Today’s catch is a throwback artist from the late 1980’s. I’m talking about the Swedish musician Neneh Cherry, who is best known for her (almost 30 year old) hit single “Buffalo Stance“. Since then she has pretty much remained out of the spotlight with the exception for the occasional drop of a new tune here and there. This past week she released a brand spanking new song called “Kong“, which happens to be today’s catch. The really cool thing about this track is that it was produced by two of the finest musicians in the electronic music genre…Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja (aka 3D) and Kieran Hebdon of Four Tet. As a matter of fact it sounds more like a Massive Attack song, as opposed to a Four Tet or Neneh Cherry song. “Kong” is dark, moody, and an excellent representative from the trip-hop genre.
