Two weekends of an eventful ACL Fest 2023 are in the books and though we might not remember everything, thankfully, we’ve get some of it on video . Several of the best acts performing in the park took time to answer our questions and even build a LEGO mini-figures of themselves.
Weekend 1 Interviews
Ben Kweller
Austin’s own Ben Kweller stopped by to chat with Emily and CJ about Ben’s famed ACL Fest nosebleed, playing with “McLovin”, and overcoming loss. Ben brought his infectious energy to both weekends of the festival on the Miller Lite stage while dedicating his performances to his son, Dorian. Give him a follow @BenKweller and check out his new single “Killer Bee” streaming now!
The Revivalists
The Revivalists were our first interview of the fest and turns out, our LEGO builds were a hit! CJ and Emily chatted with them about their favorite music city, their trash can instruments days (turns out it was fake), and of course, where to get tacos here in Austin, Texas. If you want more of the Revivalists, check out their new album “Pour It Out Into The Night” and follow them on their socials @TheRevivalists.
Declan McKenna
English singer-songwriter Declan McKenna sat down with Emily and CJ at ACL Fest to talk about his free-spirited stage presence, his newest upcoming album, and Harry Kane since CJ can’t go one interview without bringing up sports. Pre-order his album “What Happened To The Beach” out February 9th and check him out on all social platforms, @TheDeclanMcKenna.
Michigander
After chatting with him back in March, Jason stopped by the Backstage Hideout at ACL Fest to catch up with CJ and Emily about what he’s been doing since SXSW. CJ and Jason bonded over their shared love for LEGOs as he explained why he doesn’t need Jared Leto style gimmicks at his Michigander shows. We are so proud of him for playing on the biggest stage of his career here at the festival! If you want to keep up with Jason and catch his next show, check him out @MichiganderBand.
