It’s a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, Elf, and all that other crap is not what I want to be watching on Christmas Eve. Instead, I prefer the excitement, comedy and violence you get with some edgier holiday films aka Die Hard Style. This is my go to list when everyone else is in the living room enjoying Miracle on 34th Street.
Yippee-ki-yay ya filthy animal!
Trading Places (1983)
Vintage super star Eddie Murphy and the legendary Dan Aykroyd with Jamie Lee Curtis as a prostitute take on crooked Wall Street investment bankers in this classic comedy.
The Man Who Came To Dinner (1942)
Pure old school Hollywood slapstick with great one-liners and a wonderfully dumb ending as well.
Batman Returns (1992)
For some reason this is my all-time favorite Batman movie. Danny Fucking DeVito and Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken and Micheal Keeton round out the perfect anti-christmas thriller.
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Kinda cliche but for some reason holiday folks and Halloween purists get real testy about this one.
