What a weather weekend in Britain! Funnel clouds threatened Isle Of Wight; flooding and mud did the same at Donington. Still, both Isle and Download went off mostly as-scheduled. The former’s Friday night headliner, Noel Gallagher, took the stage just hours after the arrival of new EP Black Star Dancing. The Independent called his “the most relevant (Noel) set in years.” See a bit:
By the way, the new EP features three new Noel songs; two have been previously featured on UKTX. The remaining “Sail On” is my fave of the bunch, though:
It was among the tunes featured on the June 16 UKTX. Here’s the playlist:
Kaiser Chiefs “Record Collection”
Bastllle “Joy”
Two Door Cinema Club “Satellite”
Foals “In Degrees”
Gerry Cinnamon Belter”
Liam Gallagher “Shockwave”
Sam Fender “Hypersonic Missiles”
Stereophonics “Chaos From The Top Down”
Catfish and the Bottlemen “2All”
1975 “It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)”
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds “Sail On”
Sea Girls “Damage Done”
