Sunday morning’s UKTX saw a bumper crop of new tunes hit the show….

Like the midweek release of a brand new Catfish and the Bottlemen song. “2All” has locked up the side one/track three position on new album The Balance, out next month:

George Ezra’s little brother Ethan records and performs as Ten Tonnes. He continues to deliver solid tunes ahead of his self-titled debut album this spring.  “Lucy” is the latest of those–and appropriately enough, Ethan doesn’t mind going a little heavier than Big Bro on this one:

Also new this week, the return of 101X Concert Series (2017) vets Two Door Cinema Club. The Northern Irish trio continues to work the retro dance vein they explored on 2016 album Gameshow, with the all-new “Talk”:

The Stereophonics crank ’em out like clockwork, going more than two calendar years between album releases only once in their 22 years of album-making.  The calendar says Kelly Jones and band are due–and Kelly says a new album is, in fact, in the works–but he describes this song as one that didn’t fit in with the others he’s working on, so he and the Phonics decided to release the incisive “Chaos From The Top Down” on its own:

And my fave among the new crop on this week’s show was from the Leicester-by-way-of-London four-piece Sea Girls.  The BBC Sound of 2019 semifinalists have several EPs under their belts; “Open Up Your Head” appears to be intended for their first full-length, expected this year:
