UKTX Recap, Sunday 8/25: Jeez Louise, Watch The 1975 Torch Reading With Their New “People”

Last Thursday night, The 1975 delivered the official first single from new LP Notes On A Conditional Form, on the heels of the tinkly Greta Thunberg essay-over-music taster track “The 1975.” “People” grabs the conservation theme of the previous release and Thunberg’s call for rebellion, restating it in an incendiary 3-minute rock song.  For those who have put the band in a box labeled “boy band”, or “pop act”, or “80’s revivalists”, behold the live version of “People” from The 1975’s weekend performance at Reading Festival:

 

We shared the studio version of “People” on Sunday morning’s UKTX, which also saw the return of Elbow with their first official single from the forthcoming new Giants Of All Sizes:

 

And The Amazons recently gave us another new song off their sophomore LP effort Future Dust.  Check out “25” from the band set to launch American Express stage festivities on ACL’s first Friday afternoon:
