Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott is under social media storm after supporting Dallas owner Jerry Jones’ expectations for the team regarding protests against social injustice and racism during the national anthem.
Prescott said he understands what has prompted the protests, but believes there is a better time and place to do it.
He became a target on social media and began receiving backlash accusing Prescott of not supporting the movement. Journalists, rappers, comedians and other NFL players have openly criticized him for his stance on the issue, but he stands by his opinion.
TEXANS TRAIN WITHOUT HELMET LOGOS
At one point last season, Houston Texans players considered removing the logos from their helmets before a game at Seattle to protest owner Bob McNair’s “inmates running the prison” remark. Now, there are no logos to remove.
As the Texans train in West Virginia, they’re wearing logo-free blue helmets. And there’s apparently no reason for it.
When asked to explain the significance of not wearing the logos on the helmets during camp, coach Bill O’Brien said he just doesn’t think they were ready at the print shop yet.

OHIO STATE URBAN MEYER PLACED ON PAID ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE
Ohio State University placed its head football coach, Urban Meyer, on paid administrative leave as it investigates whether he was aware of the domestic violence allegations against fired assistant coach Zach Smith.
In 2015, Courtney Smith, the then-wife of Zach Smith, alleges she was physically attacked. This was part of a lengthy abusive relationship, which includes a 2009 arrest of Zach Smith for domestic abuse. She also has gruesome photos to back it up.
Although Meyer said he didn’t know anything about the 2015 incident involving the Smiths, text messages were obtained between Courtney Smith and Shelley Meyer that made it clear Meyer’s wife knew enough to intervene.
