Enjoys The Pop Over Guy, Don’t Be That Guy

THAT GUY

Deb explained last week that with all that is going on with Blue and his cancer, she and Blue boy enjoy a nice pop over every now and then. Well, Jason decided to take her up on this offer, and wanted to pop over with treats for Blue. Somehow Jason must not have received the pop over guidelines, because he gave her a thirty minute notice before showing up. Producer Nick clarified that what Jason did was not actually a pop over. There is a difference between a short visit and an un-announced visitor.

Jason and Nick both agreed that the pop over is socially acceptable if you are amongst that special list of pop over-worthy visitors, but a text is still required. Especially after Jason’s roommate caught him on a boxers, no shirt plus pizza date with himself. We clearly don’t know what really goes on when the Dickman has the house to himself.

Also, you may remember the bing-bonging pop over sales lady who caught Jason with a large quantity of old KFC buckets when she stopped by unannounced. If you’re That Guy and you embrace the pop over, is it just for a select few group of people or anyone that knows your address? Anyways, oddly-open Enjoys The Pop Over Guy, Don’t Be That Guy.

BLUE UPDATE FROM DEB

Deb was out spending time with Blue boy today, so she called in to give us an update. Since his leg amputation and being diagnosed with cancer, Blue has his good and bad days. Sometimes he seems like old self. The front half of him is strong, his mind is all there, he recognizes his friends and gets excited when people come by to see him, but his body is just letting him down.

Unfortunately, Saturday night was a bad night for Blue. While Deb was camping with Blue in the front yard, he was howling with frustration because he was having issues using the bathroom. Yesterday after work, he was also anxious and couldn’t get comfortable in the car, so she decided she isn’t going to be able to take him into work anymore. And last night, Blue’s condition seemed to just be getting worse. He didn’t want to camp outside, but his frustration with the lack of support on his hind leg when he tries to use the restroom is getting hard to bare. This morning Blue was having the same issues, and when Deb tried to let him out before work she could sense how uncomfortable he must feel. It’s agonizing for Deb to have to think about making any decisions regarding letting Blue go, but she just can’t stand seeing him in pain anymore and decided she is going to have to put him down on Friday. Hearing Deb and Blue’s fight has had everyone in tears at work or even in their cars lately, but we greatly appreciate all of the love, positivity and support that has been shared. Stay strong, Deb.

TAKE A COOKIE- THERE’S YOUR TIP!

Impossible transition…yesterday Jason went to pick up his H-E-B curbside delivery, and when the guy came to the car he asked, “Are the substitutions okay?” Trying to avoid as much human interaction as possible, Jason replied, “Yes” and drove off before checking his bags. When Jason got home he couldn’t seem to find any changes to his order, although he did find a couple of individually wrapped cookies added in. The last time he ordered curbside groceries and an item was substituted, he got a text and could immediately spot what was changed. This time, all of his groceries were spot on, but nothing he ordered was cookie related. Jason wondered if the guy recognized him and the extra cookies were some sort of tip for all of the entertaining and free service he provides on the radio. Of course, Jason  would never walk around with a tip jar or anything like that, but if you recognize the Dickman and want to leave a tip, feel free to throw a couple of cookies his way.

I LOVE YOU CALL

Since Deb was out to spend time with Blue boy, today’s I love you call was a Best Of from the time we called Old Northside Inn Bed and Breakfast. Old Northside Inn was happy to tell more about their bed, breakfast and many amenities, but too bad they must just have love for the guests because Deb got butt-slammed.
