Jason is currently going through a weightloss journey. He is pretty positive he can lose 100 pounds for this. The only big hurdle he has to face is drinking a lot less alcohol than normal. When he asked if he can still drink his trainer told him “yes, but no beer and wine and you can have 4 drinks a week. Jason is up for the challenge, so much so that he’s willing to make a bet. Jason is willing to bet that he can lose 100 pounds and is willing to put up $20k to listeners $10k. If he loses 100 pounds he keeps your $10k, but if he doesn’t, you get to keep your money and take his $20k. In his weight loss journey, he just asks to not be that guy who is rooting against him, guy. Jason is trying to do something good for not just himself but also his family and friends. Don’t be a jerk, encourage that GD monster ginger!
Hi How Are You Day
Today we had Tom Gimbel and Courtney Blanton from the Hi How Are You Project in the studio. Tonight is Hi, How Are You Day at ACL Live! It’s a concert supporting the Hi, How Are You Project with performances by Cage the Elephant, White Denim, Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio, Jason Falkner with Spoon, Katie Schecter, and Dan Luke and the Raid. Tickets are still available for the show tonight but it will also be live-streamed starting at 7:30 pm CST. The reason Tom and Courtney founded the Hi How Are You Project was to raise awareness for mental health. Funds from the show will be going towards a new video training series. They want to arm kids with lessons on communication methods with each other. In order to teach them how to have a genuine conversation about mental health and listen, emphasize, relate, etc. Some of the biggest signs of depression are not being social, someone becoming detached from the group and isolating. One thing that you can do to look out for your friends or family is to ask “how are you, really?” The project was also inspired by Daniel Johnston who passed away last year. In addition to benefiting the Hi, How Are You Project, the show tonight will be celebrating the life of the beloved local artist.
Only a handful of tickets remain for Hi How Are You Day this Wednesday! Join us at @acllive featuring @CageTheElephant @whitedenimmusic @TundeAdebimpe Jason Falkner with @spoontheband @KatieSchecter and @danluketheraid. https://t.co/MZOenEYcR6 pic.twitter.com/X3oAZ56Nur
