Quiz For A Cause

Jason, Deb and Mark Zupan

You may remember Jason and Deb’s friend Mark Zupan, author and gold medalist in the Paralympics from the films Murderball and Jackass 2 – which he still gets a check in the mail from every time the movie airs. Now, he’s looking for a few geeks that like to drink and support a good cause at the same time!  Join Mark for Geeks Who Drink trivia at Gibson Bar on Tuesday (July 31) starting at 8 PM! The cost is $5 per person and the winning team will receive $5 for each team that donated! The money raised will go towards Zupans A Will to Live Foundation and their launch of adaptive sports clinics as well as tutorial clinics on independent living after injury. The participation in these sports is what has helped a lot of injured men and women overcome a lot of obstacles faced after injuries such as addiction, depression, and loss of independence.

IT’S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

The MAVS Charity Classic is just four days away! As part of her training to get ready for the big competition, Deb went to check out The Sweat House, a new infrared sauna studio.

Jason wondered what the difference was between an infrared sauna and a regular sauna, and Deb explained that the wave length of light in an infrared sauna is more intense so Jason understood it was like a microwave. Well, Deb said her overall experience was amazing and he enjoyed the “microwave”.  The pods look like a tanning bad, and you can even get a lavender face cloth with cucumber water when you finish. Sweat away, Deb!

DEB’S DIARY

Deb is all grown up now! She went to the bank to deposit a couple of checks and during her trip she caught up with her mortgage lady Diane. Deb usually just goes through the drive thru because boy Blue, loves the bank doggy treats, but this time she took a trip inside.  While she was catching up with her mortgage lady, she asked why Deb didn’t just do a mobile deposit, and Deb confessed she just didn’t know how to do it. Friendly Diane walked Deb through the process to get started and Deb learned they even have special blank checks that are deposited to get mobile banking set up for a penny. Yes, she got a free penny! Now Deb doesn’t have to hold on or hoard checks like Jason. Welcome to the mobile banking club, Deb!

I LOVE YOU CALL

Today we called Morning Glory Diner in Philadelphia, PA. Deb asked if they had any vegetarian food and they did indeed have plenty of options such as eggs, vegetables, French toast, pancakes, and sandwiches for Deb to enjoy with friends. Morning Glory Diner also said Deb could pop in anytime, and Deb ended the conversation with I love you, and even tried te amo, but they had no love for Deb today.
