She’s A Keeper!

Deb with her new cat on her face.

Yesterday Producer Nick found a kitten outside of the station, and all it took was a few kisses and she came right over to Deb. Was it the universe that brought them together? Alfie immediately took a liking to the adorable kitten, so Deb took her home and Braidy was very interested in the little fluffy creature, but she seems to be mighty comfy in her new home so far.

She’s sweet, loves to purr, and likes to cuddle and rub on Alfie. She was definitely starving before coming home with Deb, because after just one sniff of food she was stoked. Deb still isn’t so sure what happened to her mom, but she plans to search around the station just in case. After consulting with her friend who has plenty of experience rescuing and fostering kittens and pups, she got advice on bottle feeding. Deb just wants to make sure she is doing the right thing, so she started by combing her hair so she is free of flees and she has also started training to go in her litter. If you can’t already tell, she’s officially Deb’s cat. Today she has an appointment to get a checkup, but so far Deb is still deciding on her name. If you have any tips or name suggestions, get at Deb. Now that it’s official, meet Deb’s new kitten.

Well, this morning my producer Nick walked into the studio and said “I just got bumrushed by a kitten at the back door!” Of course I had to go out and look for him, and there he was, all of 1lb and about 4wks. Obviously I took him inside and the girls at work took great care of him til I could leave. I brought him home to the bf who immediately just held him. It wasn’t just me who was devastated when we lost George… I have bottle raised many, many puppies but never a kitten! So I spoke in great length with my friend and amazing animal advocate and star employee at @austinpetsalive , @faithapa and she told me not to worry! She said it’s basically the same as bottle feeding a puppy. I’ll be taking this little orange and white, blue eyed baby to the vet tomorrow for a check up. (They were all booked today) She’s has plenty of food, formula, water and love. She even ventured right up to Alfie! Braidy is still a little too ‘interested’ so she’ll be kept apart for a while. Interesting note: my baby George left this plane 4 weeks ago today… I don’t know if anyone will ever have the amazing relationship that Alfie and George had, but I can only hope. I’ve got a couple of names in mind but I’m still thinking about it. Maybe you all have suggestions? Anyway, welcome home little kitten. I hope you like it here… ❤️ #adoptdontshop #catsofinstagram #kittensofinstagram #catsanddogs
