Don’t be that guy who compares his struggles with pets to struggles with children. Jason was playing at a poker game a few weeks ago when another guy playing recognized him. He started talking with Jason and brought up how he was annoyed at “the lady for comparing raising dogs to raising babies.” He was referring to when we had former producer Alex in and was talking about having to deal with baby poop all the time. Deb said she could relate because she’s always dealing with poop from 2 dogs and 2 cats. Deb doesn’t think it’s harder, but some aspects she can relate! It brought up the conversation of people being ready for pets and/or babies and Nick suggested you should babysit Dwayne first. If you didn’t know, Dqyane is Jason’s drunk alter ego who is quite the handful! If you can handle Dwayne, you can most likely handle a human child, they’re essentially the same thing.
Austin Music Awards
Today we had Chris Cubas in studio today! He is hosting the Austin Music Awards with Jackie Venson happening on March 11th. Jason and Chris go way back to a SXSW where they shared a cab together. He’s also appeared on the “Doug Loves Movies” podcast which Jason and Deb have been guests on. Deb remembers the last time they went to the Austin Music Awards and she took way too long on her acceptance speech. She just wanted to see how long it took before they started the play-off music. Writing On The Walls
This upcoming week a series of public art installations and events will be happening between March 4th – March 11th. The project will result in two permanent murals, one being the largest in Austin! There will also be workshops, a craft market, film screenings, and painting opportunities! It’s presented by Downtown Austin Alliance and you can find more information here on their website!
