The Oscars announced it would add a category for blockbuster films. With last year’s broadcast being the least watched in history, the program plans to shorten the next telecast in 2020.
The announcement of a new category is what raised the most eyebrows.
The Oscars will now recognize “Achievement in Popular Film” honoring outstanding achievement in a popular film.
The questions of what qualifies as popular and how does the voting for such an award work are still to be determined.
In the past years, the popular film awards would have went to:
2017 “Wonder Woman”
2016 “Deadpool”
2015 “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”
2014 “Guardians of the Galaxy”
PARIS IMPLEMENTS ECO-FRIENDLY OPEN-AIR URINALS
Paris officials installed open-air urinals, or “uritrottoirs”, to resolve public urination.
Some residents of the French capital are outraged, although the uritrottoirs were installed in areas where public urination was a problem.
The urinals have a straw layer that eliminates odor and are eco-friendly as they turn waste into compost for parks and gardens.
They harness nutrients in waste to produce compost for parks and gardens, and apparently, one year of a person’s urine holds enough nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium to fertilize four-hundred square meters of wheat.
The new urinals, housed in flower boxes, are fully exposed on street corners, painted bright red, and have nearby signs advertising their presence.
AMAZON IS ON TRACK TO BECOMING A ONE-TRILLION DOLLAR COMPANY
Amazon is on track to growing to a one-trillion dollar company by 2022, according to reports. This means that the world’s largest online retailer could grow almost a third bigger in the next four years.
Analysts see plenty of avenues for Amazon’s revenue to more than double over four years.
The company’s aggressive push to expand its advertising business is also key.
