For those not familiar with Georgie, that’s the name of Deb’s classic 1968 Buick Wildcat. We talked awhile back about how Deb just got her running again, thanks to the help of Pest Control Danny and his friend Ben. Unfortunately, just last week Deb noticed that someone had hit poor Georgie and didn’t leave a note or anything. Luckily two of Deb’s young neighbors happened to see who the offender was and did the right thing by telling Deb. Deb checked her Point Security cameras and, sure enough, she got the whole thing on tape. Armed with proof, she confronted said offender and eventually got them to come clean and provide their insurance information. So sadly Georgie’s 1968 body is no longer pristine, but Deb’s faith in people doing the right thing has been restored.
Sad News :'(
Yesterday was an especially tough one for us. Sadly the radio station had to let go of several employees because of the coronavirus fallout, including our beloved Producer Katy. And because the universe is cruel, she also found out yesterday that her dad has tested positive for the coronavirus. Words cannot express how sad and angry we are. The “good” news is that we have already managed to find her a new job thanks to listener Pest Control Danny and hopefully once we’ve all rebounded from Covid-19 we’ll be able to get her back on the team. In the meantime you can reach her on Twitter @cowgrl_KT. Please drop her a DM to try and cheer her up and we’ll do our best to keep you guys updated on Katy and her dad, Billy. And for crying out loud, stay home unless you absolutely need to and help make sure at-risk people like Katy’s dad are protected.
Amateur Dream Doctor
This whole week Jason Dick has been doing the show from home to self-quarantine after his vacation to Mexico. Perhaps that is starting to affect his dreams, because he had a doozy for us this morning. In his dream, Jason “woke up” and rolled over in bed to find he was sharing with a full-grown tiger. It turns out that Dream Jason had turned his house into an animal sanctuary that housed said tiger, a lion with a deformed muzzle and even a llama. It’s worth checking out the podcast to hear the whole thing because there’s no way to do it justice here.
We Love Nick’s Mom
We would normally call a random business for the I Love You Call, but considering many business are struggling to stay open, we’ve decided to pivot and call our loved ones instead. Yesterday we talked to Mama Dick and today it was Producer Nick’s mom who got the call. It was the first time we’ve had her on the show, but she fit in like a champ and even got in a sweet dig about Nick having been social distancing for years. If you know someone who could use some extra love right now, email morningx@krox.com and they just might get a call from us.
Jason Singing
Since Jason has been broadcasting from home he’s started singing along to the songs we play and we finally caught it on video. Enjoy.
How much would you pay on Cameo to have @jasondick101x sing to you? pic.twitter.com/eSTIIcerBW
