Today we had Bumble Chief Brand Officer Alex and her intern Sang in the studio to make us pros at using the app. Jason and Deb both already have accounts and wanted help setting up the optimal profile, so they even took over their accounts and gave them tips on what people look for. Alex thought Deb’s profile had a lot of potential, but Jason’s account needed a little more professional help. As you may know, Jason treats Bumble like a video game, so he does a lot of matching but doesn’t actually message or make connections with the majority of the girls he matches with. Although Jason’s dating app tactics seem a bit cruel, he finally met his match and since then, he has had an affinity for a user he calls Jiggly Skin. To clarify, Jiggly Skin isn’t a nickname, but it’s what she referred to herself as on her profile which is one of the reasons Jason thought she would be pretty cool. Now, thanks to Alex and Sang from Bumble, we know it’s possible for users to be blocked for mistreated matches, but neither Deb nor Jason’s Bumble is broken. Also, Jiggly Skin if you are out there, give Jason a call.
PRODUCER NICK SPENT ALL OF HIS GEMS
Producer Nick would like to announce that he has spent all of his gems. Jason and Deb always talk about Nick being on his phone a gem game, and he takes it very seriously. We learned today that the game is actually called Final Fantasy, but we’re still just going to refer to it as the gem game. Well, we also learned that the gems in the game are like a currency, and Nick spent all but ten of his gems. Apparently, some cool characters are out, so Nick just had to have them. But, this “purchase” brought him all the way down to ten gems…from twenty-five thousand! Jason related it to the time he bought his first big screen TV and Deb just wanted to know if it was worth it. We tried to follow the rest of the story, but nick went on to explain the game and it started to sound a little like Nickmouth, so let’s just say he finally decided to invest some gems he’s been saving up for months. If you understand this language and Final Fantasy gems are your thing, listen to the whole story on the 8am podcast.
C OF THE WEEK
Every Friday Deb picks out someone or something to be her C Of The Week. Sometimes it’s a jovial C and sometimes it’s a legitimate C. Today Deb chose her new cat George, well, his medical bill. Deb adopted George last week, but earlier in this week he had a neurological episode and she found out he had FIV, which is like HIV for cats. Deb is happy that George will live on, but wasn’t too excited to have to spend so much on an emergency visit to the vet. Deb can even tell Blue was exited to see George back to his normal self and feeling okay, but George’s $1,400 medical bill is this week’s C of the week.
I LOVE YOU CALL
If you tuned in to the call from yesterday, we called Backwater Outfitters Sporting Goods Store in Lexington, Kentucky to find some waders for Deb. Although they didn’t have a big selection, they recommended us another store, J and H outdoors, so we gave them a call today. Turns out, J and H also didn’t have any wader for Deb, and they recommended her back to Backwater Outfitters. Looks there in Lexington, Kentucky there are no waders nor love for Deb today.
