Paramore Replaced Iconic Self-Titled Album Art on Streaming

Have you played ‘Still Into You’ or ‘Ain’t It Fun’ on Streaming Recently?

You may have noticed the change of iconic album art for Paramore’s 2013 self-titled album. There may be a very particular reason for this if you’ve been following the lore of Paramore history.

The original rave-like album art features Hayley Williams on the right, guitarist Taylor York (middle), and former bassist Jeremy Davis (left). Yup, former bassist, Davis left the band claiming lack of pay for his contributions and conjured up a lawsuit. Hayley Williams attempts to clear the air by reminding the world, Davis is an employee and not a partner in its touring, streaming, or merchandise revenue.

A portion of the fanbase was not happy with Hayley’s words especially when Davis claimed to have handled multiple duties by hiring touring crew, musicians, equipment managers and advisors. The issues between Paramore and Davis have been settled outside of court.

The band is preparing to release their sixth studio album, This Is Why, on February 10th, 2023. With the release of the title single ‘This Is Why’ the band may have been motivated to remove the original artwork with a new direction ahead. The updated artwork features Hayley Williams facing away from the camera, wearing the ‘Grow Up’ denim jacket.
