Things to do in Austin this weekend. When and where to do them. Brought to you by: Smoking Burnouts
Friday, April 28th
Molchat Doma | 7 p.m. | Stubb’s
In true “live music capital” fashion, this weekend, ATX is jam-packed with incredible musicians. Don’t miss your chance to see the Russian, TikTok-famous Molchat Doma. The band can be defined as a darker version of post-punk, new wave, synth pop but, the cool kids are calling them “Doomer” music. Get tickets for the musical phenomenon, here.
Austin Psych Fest | 2 p.m. | The Far Out Lounge
The Austin Psych Fest is one of the most highly anticipated ATX festivals of the year. The festival offers three full days of some of the biggest names in psych music. If you’re new to psych music or just need help deciding which bands to see, I highly recommend the day-one line-up. Toro Y Moi, Yves Tumor, Crumb and Austin’s own Being Dead, are some of my personal favorite bands. These bands are totally worth seeing if you want a musical experience you’ll never forget. Find tickets for the festival, here.
Saturday, April 29th
Eeyore’s Birthday Party | 11 a.m. | Pease District Park
Eeyore is turning 59 years old this Saturday! What better way to celebrate the beloved, Debbie-downer donkey than with a FREE celebration? Enjoy tons of vendors, music, food, face painting, a costume contest and so much more. Proceeds from the party go to multiple Central Texas non-profits. This birthday party isn’t your average birthday party. Eeyore’s birthday party is known as a bit of a hippie event, and offers party-goers to go topless. You can find the Facebook RSVP for the event, here.
101X’s Austin FC Watch Party | 7:30 p.m. | Simar Seafood
Can’t get to the Q2 Stadium? Don’t have anyone to cheer on Los Verdes with? Join 101X’s very own, CJ Morgan, this Saturday at Simar Seafood to watch the big game. You’ll get the chance to grab a ton of free swag. Plus, 21+ drink specials from Dulce Vida tequila.
Sunday, April 30th
Cajun Crawfish Boil | 2 p.m. | Tweedy’s Bar
Of course, I had to hook it up for y’all, once again. Here’s what your weekly Crawfish Boil is lookin’ like. Head down to Tweedy’s for some good ‘ol mudbugs provided by Crawfish Breauxs. For that authentic Cajun feel, enjoy live music from Charlie Thibodeaux & The Austin Cajun Aces. RSVP to the Facebook invite, here.
Vino Vinyasa | 11 a.m. | Colton House Hotel
Find your zen, and your buzz this Sunday. After a long weekend, it’s time to unWINEd with yoga, and wine. Vino Vinyasa comes to Austin to bring vinyasa-based yoga classes. During the class, your instructor will provide you with a plethora of wine facts and teachings, prepping you for the after-class wine tasting. Stay after the tasting for half off your next glass of wine at Simona’s inside the hotel. Find tickets, here.
