The City of Kyle has closed its daycare centers. Officials said this very likely will not be easy for working parents, especially right now, but Mayor Travis Mitchell said drastic measures are needed to address a drastic situation.

Both City leaders and doctors say big steps must be taken to slow the spread of coronavirus.  Dr. Amanda Dupont with Kyle ER and Hospital said the closings will be hard on those who rely on those facilities daily. “Unfortunately, I think if we don’t take these measures, we are going to be looking at a much more serious…and frankly, overwhelming situation for our medical system.”

She said plenty of places haven’t taken the outbreak seriously, and that has led to a high cost in terms of illness and death.
