England may be out of the Finals, but another team of U.K. residents have joined forces for a remix of major proportions. Yesterday, the Gorillaz and breakout indie collective Superorganism surprised us with a remix and accompanying video of the peppy track “Humility,” from the Gorillaz’ newly-released album “The Now Now.”
The remix itself is a genre-bending, synthed-out experience with big bass and a trippy mix of both crisp and distorted vocals. The video is the same as the original, only with a virtual Superorganism frontwoman Orono cleverly dropped into the Gorillaz’ sunny day on Venice beach, plus a few snippets of the seventeen-year-old rollerskating through space and rapping from a cyber cartoon world with shrimp police.
